6th Encuentro Amistoso, Santiago de Cuba, 7th – 9th february 2013

The 6th Encuentro Amistoso is all set to take off on the 7th of February 2013 and continue flying high until the 9th of February. The event will be held in Cuba’s second capital, Santiago de Cuba. Santiago de Cuba is famous for its musicians and its cultural life but more importantly it is one of the best flying areas in Cuba.

This carnival of flying will bring together pilots of the Cuban Free Fly Federation from all over Cuba and will also offer a warm welcome to all visiting pilots from overseas. Following in the tradition of previous events, this is an opportunity to meet old friends, make new ones, compete in a spirit of friendship and have fun together! You don’t need to be a skygod or have the latest equipment but you do need to bring a passion for paragliding.

The festival will start on the 7th with a non-competitive day of XC flying together. On the following day there will be two XC tasks and on the 9th there will be a ground handling skills event followed by non-competitive, relaxed flying around the Puerto Boniato area. The award ceremony and prize giving will take place on the morning of the 9th followed by even more flying!

6tes Encuentro Amistoso in Santiago de Cuba vom 7.-9.2.2013

Auch dieses Jahr findet wieder ein internationales Freundschaftstreffen in Kuba statt. Dieses Mal treffen sich die Piloten der ganzen Insel in Santiago de Cuba. Selbstverständlich sind alle internationalen Besucher auf das Herzlichste eingeladen. Unserer Tradition folgend, die sich 2013 zum sechsten Mal jährt, ist das die ideale Gelegenheit alte Freunde zu treffen, neue Menschen kennenzulernen und im freundschaftlichen Wettstreit miteinander Kräfte zu messen. Es ist nicht nötig mit der neuesten Ausrüstung zu kommen oder mehr Mensch als Adler zu sein. Alles was Du mitbringen solltest, ist die Liebe zum Sport.

Das Treffen wird am 7ten durch einen gemeinsamen Streckenflug nach El Cobre eröffnet. Am folgenden Tag wird es zwei weitere Tasks zu bewältigen geben und am 9ten dürfen Athleten Ihr Können in einem Groundhandlingwettbewerb unter Beweis stellen. Zum Ausklang laden wir zum entspannten Soaren am Balcon del Puerto über der Stadt Santiago de Cuba ein. Gegen Abend gibt es ein gemeinsames Essen und die offizielle Preisverleihungszeremonie. Für die kubanischen Piloten wird es wieder tolle Sachpreise aus dem Fundus der über die letzten beiden Jahre von Privatpersonen gespendeten abgelegten Flugutensilien geben. Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle an die zahlreichen Spender die das ermöglicht haben.
