I have connected a HC 05 Bluetooth module
to the Kobo´s serial port to connect to a Flarm.
For the first tests, i have soldered some wires to the serial port and put the bluetooth module in an external case. I´ll try to put it into the Kobo later.
Tested it yesterday, and it worked like a charm. After 5:11h of flight it had still 67% charge indicated.
The Bluetooth module in the Kobo (HC 05) needs TTL-level and 3,3V supply voltage. Both are provided on the Kobo´s PCB. (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8385/8...21dacb0e13.jpg
I already had a Bluetooth device for Flarm, using the BX-BTM222, which uses 12V supply voltage and RS232 level.
Keep in mind that the Bluetooth module is not integrated into the Kobo´s systems, so it is only possible to configure it with a terminal program using "AT-Commands". It´s not possible to change to another Bluetooth device quickly.
