Ich möchte in den Sommerferien (BW) 4 Wochen nach Irland, wer kann mir nähere Informationen zukommen lassen?

die irischen Gleitschirmflieger sind ausgesprochen nett und äußerst gastfreundlich. Ich bastle derzeit an einer Wander- und GS-Kombination im Nordwesten der Insel und stehe in Kontakt mit einigen Piloten. Deine eMails gehen an alle gelisteten irischen Flieger und Du kriegst auch deren Mails.

Nur kurz zwei der vielen Tipps, die ich bekommen habe:

“Hiking with a glider is not a common practice here in Ireland which is kinda strange considering that a lot of our best sites have no roads to them. I prefer to hike myself and I have an Edel 8000 to make the job a little easier. I would generally reccomend the west coast for the nicest hills and fantastic views over the atlantic. I think the best area would be west Galway and Mayo (west-northwest region). I have attached a few photos from Achill Island. The yellow glider is Hubert Aupetit who visits every year in August. The summer season is the best time to visit but there is never a guarantee of good weather. For walking you will need waterproof boots (our mountains have "bogs" which may remain wet, even in a dry season) and some insect repellent (in good weather we have tiny little biting flys called "midges" which can be a little annoying).
